 Assistant Director of Public Works

$18.00-$22.00 per hour

This is a managerial position. Performs a variety of administrative duties in assisting the Director of Public Works. The position performs both assigned and independent duties. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Maintenance Department. The position requires coordination, supervision and implementation of a variety of Public Works projects. These include but are not limited to day-to-day maintenance of the City’s infrastructure and facilities, street and park maintenance and emergency response for snow, ice, flood and severe weather. This position serves as Acting Public Works Director in the absence of the Director. Provides support for the Cities Commission/Board’s and Committee, serves as a staff and community liaison. Work requires the exercise of discretion in performing daily activities based on administrative policies and procedures and the City of Black Jack operations. EOE – Position open until filled

Seasonal Worker - Part-time

The City of Black Jack is accepting applications for PT Seasonal Worker in the Public Works Department. Approximate assignment duration is May-September.  Job duties include: maintenance of public grounds including park facilities, litter control including picking up waste disposal barrels and dumping them into the dumpsters, cleaning park shelters, picnic tables, grills, sand areas, and playgrounds, clean and restock supplies in restrooms and other duties as assigned.  DOQ.
